What is a diss track?
A diss track is a song written to insult or call out a rival, usually in rap. It grew out of battle rap, where two rappers trade verses and the crowd decides who landed the better punchlines. The best diss tracks win with wit, wordplay and details, not with volume.
Who to diss, and the rules it follows
- A made-up rival: invent a rapper, give them a name and a few bad habits, and go to battle.
- A friend: a friendly roast for a birthday or a group chat. Use a first name or a nickname, and only roast things they would laugh at.
- A rival team, school or city: sports-banter energy for game day.
- A thing you hate: Mondays, traffic, a printer that never works.
Lyrics stay clean: no profanity, slurs or threats, and no jokes about appearance, race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, health or family. It will not target real public figures or artists.
How to write diss track lyrics that land
- Bring specific ammo. "Still cannot parallel park" hits harder than "you are bad at driving".
- Set up, then flip. Use the first half of the bar to build an expectation and the second half to turn it.
- Turn their words around. If the rival has a catchphrase, the best punchline usually flips it.
- Make the hook a chant. Short lines the crowd could shout back work best.
- Save the best bar for last. End each verse on your strongest punchline.

Frequently asked questions
Is the diss track generator free?
Yes. You can write a few diss tracks a day without an account, and signed-in users get a larger daily allowance. Writing lyrics never uses credits; only turning them into a song does.
Can I roast my friend?
Yes, as a friendly roast. Choose "A friend", use a first name or a nickname, and add harmless ammo such as always being late. It keeps the jokes to habits and choices, never appearance or personal struggles.
Can I diss a real rapper or celebrity?
No. It does not target real public figures, artists or brands. Invent a rival instead: a made-up name gives you more room for punchlines anyway.
Does it write explicit lyrics?
No. Lyrics stay clean, with no profanity, slurs or threats. Savage but clean and Battle rap make the bars sharper without making them explicit.
Can it make a full diss track with vocals?
Yes. Select Make it a diss track and the lyrics open in the AI song maker with a beat for your style. Generating the song needs a free account and uses credits.
Is it a rap battle generator too?
Choose "A made-up rival", Battle rap and a 16-bar verse for a battle round. Write a second verse from the other side to stage a full battle.
